SKIN HYDRATION TREATMENTS
Hydration treatments are designed to address measurable signs of skin dehydration by delivering humectants and supportive ingredients into the skin. Dehydration is a skin condition (not a skin type) and can affect the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. It occurs when the skin has reduced water content and impaired barrier function.
COMMON SIGNS OF DEHYDRATED SKIN:
Increased transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Dull or uneven skin appearance.
Fine, superficial lines (often more visible when skin is stretched or animated).
Rough or uneven skin texture on palpation.
Increased skin sensitivity or reactivity.
Tightness, particularly after cleansing.
COMMON CAUSES OF DEHYDRATION:
Low daily fluid intake.
High caffeine or alcohol consumption.
Hormonal changes.
Age-related decline in natural moisturising factors (NMFs).
Environmental exposure (wind, UV, low humidity, air conditioning, heating).
Over-cleansing or use of harsh exfoliants.
Use of products that disrupt the skin barrier.
Inadequate topical hydration or moisturisation.
Hydration treatments aim to improve water content within the skin and support barrier function, which may assist in reducing visible signs associated with dehydration.
COLLAGEN STIMULATION
Collagen is a key structural protein that helps maintain skin firmness, elasticity and overall texture. Over time, collagen production slows, contributing to visible signs of ageing.
Collagen-stimulating treatments are designed to activate the body’s own repair processes, encouraging the gradual renewal of skin structure.
These clinically driven procedures can help support skin strength, resilience and a refreshed appearance, with results that develop progressively over time.
